David is a pragmatic, business-minded lawyer and savvy dealmaker. He assists clients in a variety of commercial real estate matters including acquisition, financing, construction, development, land banking, and joint ventures.
Drawn to the commercial real estate industry for its variety, David enjoys the opportunities and challenges presented by the different asset types and capital structures that make each transaction unique. He has significant experience with all asset classes, including multifamily, single-family rental, hotels and resorts, industrial, and office properties. His clients include national and regional developers, REITs, institutional investors, public and private companies, and high-net-worth individuals. With specialized experience representing companies in hotels and other hospitality products through acquisition, management, financing, and leasing transactions, David has a thorough understanding of the hospitality industry’s particular nuances, and he has negotiated agreements with all major hotel brands and operators.
In every deal, David becomes embedded in his client’s business, gaining an understanding of their objectives and appetite for risk while remaining mindful of their issues of particular concern. This level of collaboration is one way David carries out his core purposes in his work: to make each client feel like his only client through dedication, prompt service, and wholeheartedly applying his expertise to each situation.

- Represented a developer in a $625 million joint venture for the development of single-family home rental communities throughout the United States.
- Represented an insurance company lender in numerous real property-secured financings involving office, hotel, industrial, and multifamily projects throughout the United States.
- Represented a leading provider of single-family homes in the negotiation of its $500 million land banking facility to acquire and develop single-family rental communities.
- Represented the owner in its agreement with Michelin-star chef Ludo Lefebvre for the branding and operation of a restaurant and beach club at the Costa Palmas resort in Los Cabos, Mexico.
- Represented an owner in its rebranding of the 38-story, 462-room premier Trump International Hotel Waikiki to the Ka La'i Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts.
- Represented an owner in its hotel management negotiation for a 15-acre luxury Waldorf-Astoria development in Lake Tahoe.
- Represented an owner in its preferred equity negotiation to finance the development of an ultra-luxury, condo hotel project in New York City.
