Michael Olinik brings a client-focused and solution-oriented approach to litigation, earning a reputation for his clear communication, strategic thinking, and commitment to achieving results. Known for his professionalism and approachability, Michael guides clients with confidence through each stage of complex legal disputes. His ability to explain legal nuances in plain language helps clients feel informed and empowered throughout the litigation process.

Michael’s practice is centered on civil litigation, with a particular focus on real estate law, commercial landlord-tenant matters, business disputes, and appellate work. He has extensive experience in all phases of the litigation process – from pre-litigation negotiation to trial and the appellate process. Michael is also among the leading attorneys addressing novel litigation issues under California Code of Civil Procedure § 2924m, which governs new procedures in non-judicial foreclosure sales.

Michael’s experience representing a broad range of clients – from small businesses to institutional clients – has sharpened his ability to anticipate opposing strategies, understand varied client priorities, and craft well-rounded litigation approaches. He has been appointed co-class counsel in significant matters involving mortgage-related litigation and employment claims, including suits against major banks. Whether navigating high-stakes disputes or guiding clients through local real estate conflicts, Michael delivers tailored legal strategies that reflect the unique needs of each client. Michael began his legal career in 2009 at Reed Smith, LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he spent three years as an associate attorney in the Commercial Litigation Group litigating numerous issues including mortgage issues, business disputes, environmental issues, products liability cases, zoning issues. He has practiced in California since 2013. His courtroom experience spans state and federal courts, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Bernard Skomal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California before joining The Butler Firm, APC, where he handled employment and business litigation. In 2016, Michael founded his own practice to further focus on civil litigation before joining Harvest in 2025.  Michael’s pro-bono experience includes helping a mother retainer her home from civil forfeiture and assisting in a capital punishment case in Pennsylvania.
