Harvest LLP's Jamie Altman Buggy, Partner and General Counsel, and Cheryl Nieman Brechlin, Senior Counsel, have been honored in the San Diego Business Journal’s “Leaders of Influence in Commercial Real Estate 2025” awards. The annual awards honor noteworthy leaders in the community who are helping shape commercial real estate industry through their excellence and leadership.
Jamie, who joined Harvest at its launch in 2022 as a partner and the firm's General Counsel, has broad experience in all types of real estate disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, insurance coverage, partnership disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty. Her experience also includes serving both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy matters, guiding them through the complicated process to a favorable outcome. She specializes in commercial landlord-tenant disputes and oversees a high volume of landlord-tenant litigation. She thrives when the situation at hand lacks precedent and requires creativity and an entrepreneurial attitude and is known for managing her litigation matters cost effectively but with exceptional results. Outside of the law, Jamie serves her community through charitable work including past tenures on the board of Home Start, which aims to strengthen families and prevent child abuse, and as Vice President of the Veterans Research Alliance, which raises money to fund innovative medical research for veteran.
Since joining the Harvest team in 2022, Cheryl diligently and tenaciously represents commercial developers, property owners, homebuilders, businesses, and institutional investors in their intricate transactional real estate and corporate affairs. With formative experience in both litigation and transactional work, she specializes in retail, office, and industrial leasing, as well as purchase and sale transactions, debt and equity financing, and construction and development matters. Cheryl currently serves a member of the San Diego chapter of NAIOP and a Membership Committee member of CREW San Diego, which supports women in the commercial real estate industry. As a lifelong animal lover, she also regularly fosters dogs in need through a New Life Charitable Foundation, a charitable organization focused on helping stranded, neglected, and abused dogs in Southern California and Tijuana. She previously served as a mentor and college counselor for Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, which is dedicated to assisting youth in achieving their full potential through innovative, impactful programs.
